Fantasy Football Week 10 Trade Advice: Buy/Sell

With the trade deadline still a few weeks away in most fantasy leagues, many owners will be making to look a deal as they push for a playoff and championship run. Consider moves involving these players entering Week 10.

A.J. Green

It looks like A.J. Green is going to miss at least one game with his toe injury, but it’s an uncertain situation. If you have Green on your roster and have a weak set of wide receivers behind him, it’s probably a good idea to deal the Pro Bowl receiver for someone that can help you right now—there’s no guarantee Green will even be back this season if the toe doesn’t heal well. But if you’re someone that has a playoff spot locked up with plenty of depth on your roster, try to acquire Green as a luxury that would be a top-ten option if on the field in the fantasy playoffs.

Verdict: Buy, but sell if you have Green and a big hole at WR

John Brown

After John Brown was held to under 30 yards in three of the last four weeks, some people might be considering just cutting the speedy receiver with the Ravens on a bye this week. If that happens in your league, you should jump at signing him; but either way, you should look at acquiring him via a trade if necessary. Brown might have the best schedule in the league over his final seven games, and at very least he should be an excellent FLEX option in lineups.

Verdict: Buy

Cordarrelle Patterson

There’s reason to be very excited about Cordarrelle Patterson, who has looked great as a tailback for the Patriots the last two weeks. The All-Pro returner is dynamic with the ball in his hands, and he’s been granted RB eligibility on multiple fantasy football platforms. The dual RB/WR eligibility is enough to get a lot of people intrigued, especially in deeper leagues where it’s tougher to fill out a starting lineup. However, Sony Michel is set to return after missing the last two games with a knee injury, so Patterson’s role is likely to decline. Now is probably the time to take advantage of the hype and deal him.

Verdict: Sell high with Sony Michel returning

Larry Fitzgerald

The end-of-season for Larry Fitzgerald looks promising, as does his involvement in the offense in Byron Leftwich’s first game as the offensive coordinator. The future Hall of Famer could be back closer to the statistics he’s normally put up in his career, which would be enough for potential WR2 value. And if this is Fitz’s final season, there’s a chance he’s fed the ball a ton over his last few games.

Verdict: Buy/pick up

Dion Lewis

If there were any questions before Week 9 about the backfield split in Tennessee, that’s been answered over the last few days. First, an ESPN report stated the Titans attempted to trade Derrick Henry at the goal line, then Dion Lewis racked up 23 touches in Monday night’s win against the Cowboys. While Henry is taking most of the goal-line carries, Lewis is locked in as a clear leader on a team that needs to get the ball to its running backs to have success. Lewis looks like at least an excellent FLEX in standard leagues for the rest of the season, and he might even be a solid RB2 now after just 15 combined points from Weeks 2-6.

Verdict: Buy for a borderline starter

Rob Gronkowski

The touchdowns haven’t been there, and he doesn’t look as explosive as usual, but Rob Gronkowski has been fine when he’s been on the field this season. However, fantasy owners that invested a high pick in the monstrous tight end are probably nervous about having to rely on whether or not he’ll play each week. Now is the time to go for Gronk and hope that he gets back to his All-Pro form after New England’s Week 11 bye week. The best case scenario for Gronkowski might be sitting out this week to have plenty of time to gear up for the final six weeks of the season—potentially leading fantasy owners to titles in the process.

Verdict: Buy for a midrange TE1
