Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.

The practice should mean Brissett will be good to go this weekend for a big game against the Jaguars, but we'll see if his status changes over the next couple of days. Especially in a week where some of the usual QB1 options have tough matchups, Brissett should be a solid streaming option.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett has been ruled out for Week 10.

This comes shortly after the Colts promoted quarterback Chad Kelly to the active roster. Brian Hoyer will start for Indianapolis tomorrow against Miami, and he is an intriguing option in deep leagues in particular after playing well in relief last week. But expect the Colts to go with a run-heavy attack featuring Marlon Mack. Brissett might have been able to play after he practiced on a limited basis during the week, but the Colts said they would be smart with their starting quarterback.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett (knee) will be a game-time decision in Week 10.

So he'll be officially listed as questionable when the final Week 10 injury report is released later today. Brissett was able to practice on a limited basis all week, and Colts head coach Frank Reich said he is "encouraged" by what they've seen from their starting quarterback but will be smart about him. You cannot take any game lightly in the NFL, but a winnable matchup with the Dolphins could make it less likely that Brissett suits up. We do believe things are trending toward him playing, though. Just keep in mind that if you plan to use Brissett, you'll need a backup from the later slate of games, as the Colts don't kickoff unit 4:05 PM ET.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett (knee) officially remains limited in practice.

Brissett practicing again is a sign that his knee responded well to yesterday’s practice, and he appears to be trending in the right direction for Sunday. We’ll see how he’s listed on the final Week 10 injury report when it’s released tomorrow, and hopefully there’s more clarity on the situation ahead of the weekend.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett (knee) was limited in today's practice.

This is a great sign for Brissett's chances of suiting up in Week 10, but we probably won't get a clear picture about his status until Friday. Still, Indy's starter may be worth picking up for fantasy owners that need a streaming option, as you could always find a replacement on Sunday if needed.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett (knee) has a chance to play in Week 10, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

The MRI brought good news (just an MCL strain), so while it's no guarantee, the Colts may have their starter against the Dolphins next weekend. At worst, it sounds like Brissett is just looking at a short-term absence, and he'll be squarely on the streaming radar whenever he's back.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett (knee) did not return for the Colts.

Brissett was 4/5 for 59 yards along with two carries for four yards against the Steelers before leaving the game. Now we just have to hope that Brissett's injury doesn't keep him out for much longer. Brissett was on the sideline in his pads, which hopefully indicates this isn't a long-term thing.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett has left the game with a knee injury.

He was able to jog off on his own, but trainers are currently looking at him, and Brian Hoyer is in the game. We’ll keep you updated when more information becomes available.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett lights up the Texans in Colts' Week 7 victory.

Brissett was 26/39 for 326 passing yards and four passing touchdowns while leading Indianapolis to a 30-23 win to take first-place in the AFC South. Despite the running game not working with high effectiveness against Houston, Brissett and the passing attack of Indy was able to create a number of chunk plays with play-action passes down the field. Brissett looked extremely confident and threw the ball with power and accuracy throughout the game. Brissett is now averaging 19.1 fantasy points per game this season, and his only time being held below 16.3 points was in Week 5 at Arrowhead. Those streaming quarterbacks should undoubtedly take a look at picking up Brissett and keeping him in the lineup most weeks. He'll face the Broncos in Week 8 before a tough matchup at Pittsburgh in Week 9.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

The Colts signed Jacoby Brissett to a two-year contract, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Rapoport says the new contract is worth $30 million with $20 million guaranteed. This is obviously a win for both sides, as Brissett gets some extra security (and a lot of money) while Indy locks up their new starting quarterback at a below-market deal for a starter. Brissett has drawn rave reviews from coaches and teammates, and it’ll be interesting to watch his progression in 2019 and beyond.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett converts a first down on only pass attempt as Colts improve to 6-5.

Brissett played quarterback with Andrew Luck lined up out wide on a third down, and the backup ended up throwing to the starter, who made a contested catch for a four-yard gain. The former third-round pick obviously isn't a fantasy option with Luck healthy.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett, Colts win 22-13 over the Texans in season finale.

Brissett was 15/25 for 114 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions, also adding five rushes for 18 yards. In basically his first year as a starting quarterback (15 starts), Brissett completed 58.8% of his passes for 3,098 yards, 13 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He also rushed 63 times for 260 yards and four scores. Overall, it was an impressive season, and at the very worst, the Colts have their backup of the future behind a hopefully-healthy Andrew Luck. In a worst-case scenario where Luck requires another surgery and Brissett begins 2018 as the starter, the former Patriot probably wouldn't be worth drafting in fantasy leagues.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett plays well but Colts fall to 3-12.

Facing one of the league's best defenses, Brissett went 16/33 for 215 yards and one touchdown, along with three carries for eight yards, in the 23-16 loss. The stats aren't exactly eye-popping, but he played a lot better than the stats indicate and had some drops from his receivers in the rainy conditions. Overall, Brissett flashed his cannon of an arm and threw accurate passes, particularly to top receiver T.Y. Hilton. Next week, Brissett faces the Texans in what could be his final start for the team assuming Andrew Luck is ready to go in 2018. Either way, it should be a momentum builder toward next season.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett runs for a touchdown in Week 15.

Brissett got off to a good start against the Broncos, running in for a score inside the ten-yard line early in the game. The second-year quarterback was 17/30 for 158 yards along with five carries for 18 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. Brissett isn't a fantasy option next Saturday against Baltimore, but he'll get more valuable experience under center.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett throws one touchdown in snowy Buffalo.

In a game in which it was difficult to pass (there were 11 pass attempts combined in the first half), there wasn't much fantasy value to go around in the passing game. Brissett was 11/22 for 69 yards and a touchdown while adding three carries for ten yards. The Colts return home to their dome when they face the Broncos this Thursday night, but Brissett isn't a highly-reccomended fantasy option.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett throws two interceptions in Colts' loss.

Brissett was 21/36 for 174 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions against Jacksonville. It was a better fairing than their first matchup in which he was sacked ten times, but the Jags still got to Brissett four times in this one. Brissett did make some plays with his legs, carrying six times for 36 yards in the game. Brissett isn't a recommended fantasy option against the Bills next week.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett gets sacked eight times in Week 12 loss.

The Titans put constant pressure on the second-year quarterback, who didn't have time to get much going for the Colts. Brissett was 17/29 for 196 yards, along with three carries for 16 yards and one lost fumble in the game. Brissett had thrown two touchdowns in three straight games, but most quarterbacks would've struggled behind Indy's offensive line in this one. With a matchup against the Jaguars next week, Brissett should not be in fantasy lineups.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett completes just 14 passes in 20-17 loss to the Steelers.

Brissett was 14/24 for 222 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Most of his production came on two touchdowns of 60 and 61 yards to Donte Moncrief and Chester Rogers, respectively, as the Colts ran it more than they threw it in a game they led throughout. Entering the bye week with a 3-7 record, Indy won't play again until they host the Titans in the final week of November.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett returns to game against the Steelers.

Brissett was probably evaluated for a concussion and was cleared to return to the game. The Colts are still up eight, so Brissett is looking to finish this game out with a second straight win.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett leaves game with apparent head injury.

Brissett looks like he might've suffered a concussion late in the third quarter against the Steelers, and he's now being evaluated in the medical tent. Brissett has been playing very well and has helped lead the Colts to an eight-point lead, but his day might be over. We'll update you as more information about Brissett's status becomes available.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett throws for 300 yards, two scores in 20-17 win over the Texans.

Brissett was 20/30 for 308 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. He also rushed twice for 12 yards and lost a fumble. The 23-year-old will be Indy's starter for the rest of the season after Andrew Luck was placed on IR last week, so he has seven more games to continue to impress. Brissett probably isn't a recommended streaming option against the rested Steelers in Week 10.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett throws two touchdowns but Colts fall to 2-6.

Brissett had a nice game in a one-point loss to the Bengals, going 25/39 for 233 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, while adding a six-yard carry. The interception came on an excellent play by tall Bengals defensive end Carlos Dunlap, who jumped up and picked if off at the line of scrimmage. The first touchdown was on a nice corner throw to the end zone to tight end Jack Doyle, and the second was on a 24-yard screen pass to rookie running back Marlon Mack. It'd be a major surprise if Andrew Luck was back for Week 9, so expect Jacoby Brissett to be under center against the Texans.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Brissett takes a beating in Colts' Week 7 loss.

The Jaguars were all over the Colts throughout their shutout win, sacking Brissett ten times in the game. All things considered, Brissett played fine and kept bouncing back after taking hits. The second-year quarterback was 22/37 for 200 yards while adding five carries for 31 yards. The offensive line will look to make some big improvements heading into Week 8 against the Bengals.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett plays well but the Colts fall to 2-4.

The second-year quarterback was 21/37 for 212 yards and a touchdown while adding five carries for 15 yards against the Titans. He kept the offense moving and the Colts scored 22 points (though one was a defensive score), but the Titans scored 36 in the game. Brissett couldn't connect with top receiver T.Y. Hilton as much as usual, as the two only had a nine-yarder the entire game. With a matchup against the Jaguars and their stingy pass defense in Week 7, Brissett should not be in fantasy lineups.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett scores another rushing touchdown in Colts' win.

The second-year quarterback played pretty well against the 49ers, going 22/34 for 314 yards and an interception, along with eight carries for 14 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Brissett kept the offense moving versus San Francisco, but his interception was a costly one in overtime where he just made a terrible decision trying to force the ball for a game-winning score. The Colts did get the ball back in overtime, though, and they were able to get into position for a game-ending field goal by Adam Vinatieri (his 10th career game-winning field goal in overtime). There's a chance Andrew Luck (shoulder) is back for Week 6, but if not it'll be Brissett under center against the Titans on Monday Night Football

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett plays OK in loss to Seattle.

The second-year quarterback was 16/29 for 157 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and 33 yards on three carries against the Seahawks. He did throw a pick-six on an underthrown out route, but his touchdown throw to Donte Moncrief for 18 yards was a perfect jump ball throw. Brissett might be able to put up some numbers in Week 5 against the 49ers in what could be his last start of the year if Andrew Luck is back in Week 6, but there should be better fantasy options out there.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett leads Colts to first win of the year.

Brissett played well against the Browns to help get the Colts to 1-2, going 17/24 for 259 yards and a touchdown while also adding five carries for 14 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. The second-year quarterback is playing very well right now, making smart plays while also playing with his legs when needed. He'll be starting again this week versus Seattle, but he's not a recommended fantasy option, even with his rushing potential.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett makes second-career start in Colts' Week 2 loss.

The Colts attempted to jump-start the team by inserting Brissett into the lineup, and the second-year quarterback played well considering he just arrived with the team a few weeks ago. Indy actually jumped ahead to a 10-0 first-quarter lead and led for most of the game. Brissett was 20/37 for 216 yards, but he threw an interception in overtime that basically sealed it for Arizona. Brissett also added 22 rushing yards on six carries. Despite the INT, Brissett obviously has upside and will only get better the more he plays. With Andrew Luck (shoulder) reportedly behind schedule and unlikely to be back next week, Brissett will look to help lead the Colts to their first win of the season next Sunday against Cleveland.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

The Colts are planning on starting Jacoby Brissett at QB this Sunday, according to Ian Rapoport.

This isn't a surprise at all, as the Colts need some kind of jolt for the team to avoid an 0-2 start. It'll be interesting to see how the 2016 third-round pick of the Patriots does in his second-career start. Arizona's D/ST is still an elite option this week, but don't be surprised if Brissett plays well in the start. He has a big arm, which is a boost for skill position players like T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett throws three passes in relief of Scott Tolzien.

Brissett completed two of them for 51 yards, including a jump ball to Donte Moncrief for 50 yards. Brissett is likely going to make starts as soon as Week 2, but he might not have much more success than Tolzien did on a team lacking talent. Playing quarterback is even harder than people like to make it out to be, and the Colts need their superstar signal-caller back if they have any chance of competing in 2017.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Quarterback Jacoby Brissett was traded from the Patriots to the Colts.

ESPN's Field Yates was the first to report this trade, and it was a bit of a surprise. In exchange for Brissett, the Patriots received third-year receiver Phillip Dorsett (a 2015 first-round pick) from Indy. This move by Indianapolis could mean they really don't anticipate Andrew Luck being ready for next Sunday, and it's possible Brissett steps right in and plays over Scott Tolzien and Stephen Morris. If not, the Colts still have Brissett under contract for three more seasons as one of the best backup quarterbacks in the league.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett scores five total touchdowns in Patriots' final preseason game.

The second-year quarterback played the entire exhibition against the Giants and went 28/39 for 341 yards, four touchdowns, one interceptions, and added four carries for 29 yards and a touchdown on the ground. There were some rumors Brissett won't make the Patriots roster, but that sounded a little premature and this performance certainly helped if there is some debate within the Pats about whether Brissett should make the team.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett goes 5/10 for 36 yards in exhibition against Houston.

The second-year quarterback couldn't get much going in the game against the team he beat in the regular season last year. Look for Brissett to get more time in the third preseason game, and extensive time in the fourth.

Jacoby Brissett | Colts QB

Jacoby Brissett finishes preseason game for the Pats.

Jimmy G started the game and played into the second half, but Brissett came in and went 8/13 for 88 yards. The 2016 third round pick will continue to get more playing time this preseason, and he might play a lot in the final preseason game.
