Jeff Driskel | Lions QB

The Lions are signing Jeff Driskel, according to Ian Rapoport.

Detroit released Josh Johnson earlier this morning, but they clearly want to keep three quarterbacks on the roster by signing Driskel. The former Cincinnati backup should quickly work his way to No. 2 duties behind Matthew Stafford, and if he ever makes starts, Driskel would be on the fantasy radar as a mobile passer surrounded by quality weapons.

Jeff Driskel | Lions QB

The Bengals have waived Jeff Driskel with an injury settlement.

Driskel made five starts last season and played surprisingly well, but the a new regime drafted Ryan Finley in the fourth round, so they'll let the 26-year-old try to establish himself somewhere else. There is probably a good chance Driskel gets claimed on waivers to be someone's No. 2 or No. 3 quarterback.

Jeff Driskel | Lions QB

The Bengals are placing Jeff Driskel on injured reserve.

Driskel is dealing with a hamstring injury, but an injury settlement that allows him to sign elsewhere might be the most likely scenario moving forward. Fourth-round rookie Ryan Finley is set to back up Andy Dalton this season.

Jeff Driskel | Lions QB

Jeff Driskel, Bengals lose a close one to the Steelers, 16-13.

Driskel was 12/24 for 95 yards, zero touchdowns, and zero interceptions, also adding two carries for 13 yards. Cincinnati had injuries run through the receiving corps, so the dual-threat quarterback did well to not make any huge mistakes and keep his team in the game. Overall this season, Driskel completed 59.7% of his passes for 1,003 yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions with 25 carries for 130 yards and two scores as a runner. Turning 26 in the offseason, Driskel might have a chance to compete for the starting job in 2019.

Jeff Driskel | Lions QB

Jeff Driskel, Bengals drop to 6-9 with 26-18 loss to the Browns.

Driskel was 13/19 for 133 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions, also adding five carries for 21 yards. The game wasn't as close as the score indicated as Cincinnati was boosted by a couple touchdown tosses in the fourth quarter to C.J. Uzomah (14 yards) and John Ross (three yards), but Cincinnati actually had a chance to get the ball back before David Njoku's 66-yard reception to seal things. Overall, Driskel has played well with limited weapons, and he will look to end Pittsburgh's playoff hopes next week. Consider him a low-end QB2 option.

Jeff Driskel | Lions QB

Jeff Driskel throws one touchdown in Bengals' Week 15 win.

Driskel was 14/33 for 130 yards, one touchdown, and one interception along with seven carries for 32 yards against the Raiders. The score was to Tyler Boyd on an in-breaking route for seven yards. It wasn't an amazing game for Driskel, but he probably played better than the numbers indicate; and his team came away with a win, the first of Driskel's career as a starter. The athletic quarterback isn't a recommended fantasy option, but he'll get more valuable playing experience next week against the Browns.

Jeff Driskel | Lions QB

Jeff Driskel, Bengals come up short in 26-21 loss to the Chargers.

Driskel was 18/27 for 170 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions, also adding two carries for 12 yards. The Bengals finally fed Joe Mixon (31 touches) in a near upset victory, and Driskel did well to take care of the ball, finding John Ross for a red zone score. Fantasy owners should look elsewhere down the stretch, but at least Andy Dalton's replacement has kept the offense afloat for Cincinnati.

Jeff Driskel | Lions QB

Jeff Driskel throws one touchdown in first NFL start.

Driskel was 25/38 for 236 yards, one touchdown, and one interception along with three carries for three yards and one fumble lost against the Broncos. Denver did a good job of pressuring the young quarterback throughout the game, sacking him four times. Ideally, Driskel won't have to throw nearly 40 times moving forward and can do more damage as a runner, but he's difficult to trust in fantasy lineups next week against a strong Chargers defense.

Jeff Driskel | Lions QB

Jeff Driskel plays well in relief of Andy Dalton in Week 12.

Dalton was forced to leave against the Browns because of a thumb injury, but Driskel entered the game and brought the Bengals back to make it a relatively close loss. Driskel was 17/29 for 155 yards and one touchdowns along with three carries for nine yards and a touchdown. The passing touchdown was to Tyler Boyd and was Driskel's first career passing touchdown. The athletic dual threat quarterback hasn't received many opportunities in the NFL, but he has obvious upside. He might have some streaming value if Dalton is forced to miss more time because of his thumb injury.

Jeff Driskel | Lions QB

Jeff Driskel scores first career touchdown in Week 10.

Driskel mixed in on offense and then later scored a touchdown in a blowout loss for the Bengals, but he played well with his opportunities. Driskel was 2/3 for 45 yards and had two carries for 35 yards and a touchdown. The athletic third-year quarterback scored on a 27-yard run, and he's an interesting fit in offensive coordinator Bill Lazor's offense. Congrats to Driskel on his first NFL touchdown. For fantasy purposes, just keep an eye on him in dynasty leagues.

Jeff Driskel | Lions QB

Jeff Driskel gets mop-up duty as the Bengals lose to the Chiefs, 45-10.

Driskel completed four-of-four passes for 39 yards, also adding a five-yard rush. Barring a complete meltdown by Cincinnati’s offense, the former Florida quarterback will only see the field for an extended period of time in the case of an injury to Andy Dalton.

Jeff Driskel | Lions QB

Jeff Driskel does it all in Bengals debut.

Driskel completed 8/9 passes for 97 yards and one touchdown, and also rushed five times for 34 yards and another score. The former Florida Gators quarterback was drafted by the 49ers in 2016, but spend his rookie year with Cincinnati, and it appears he made some nice improvements over the past year. Driskel will look to keep it going next week against Kansas City.
