Jeremy Hill | Free Agent RB

Jeremy Hill says he's close to being cleared from his torn ACL.

Hill told Herbie Teope of The Advocate that he's doing what he can to get back to full strength, adding, "I know there's going to be a job waiting on me when I get cleared." As for a timeline, Hill says he's "pretty close" to getting cleared. The former Bengals and Patriots running back tore his ACL in Week 1 of last season with New England, and he played in just seven games in 2017 because of injury. Hill had 30 touchdowns in his first three NFL seasons, though, and he should receive plenty of interest around the league when he does get cleared. Ideally, Hill will be with a team early in training camp.

Jeremy Hill has a torn ACL, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

This is really tough to hear, as Hill was in a good spot in New England one a one-year prove-it deal and this is now a major setback for the 25-year-old (26 in October). The former second-rounder was doing everything the Patriots asked of him, including play on special teams, where he blocked a punt in yesterday's game. He also seemed to be working his way into a nice role as a ball-carrier for the Patriots, too. Now, Rex Burkhead is the clear lead ball-carrier, and it'll likely stay that way at least until Sony Michel (knee) gets on the field and works his way into a role. We wish Hill luck on his recover from this knee injury, and we hope to see him back and better than ever in 2019.

Jeremy Hill leaves game with apparent knee injury.

Hill just went down and was in obvious pain on a play in the third quarter against the Texans, and it unfortunately looks to be an extremely serious injury after his right knee took an ugly hit. Before leaving, Hill partially blocked a punt and ran the ball well on offense, carrying four times for 25 yards while also adding a six-yard reception. We should receive more information about Hill tonight or tomorrow, but it doesn't look good.

Jeremy Hill says he's fine after last night's injury scare.

Hill was moving around well on the sideline after getting horse-collar tackled late in the fourth quarter. It looked like it might have been a serious injury, so this is great to hear. Hill and Mike Gillislee were the only Patriots to receiver carries in the game, as they could be battling for one roster spot in New England. Both Hill and Gillislee might play in the team's fourth preseason game next week.

Jeremy Hill leaves preseason game with apparent leg injury.

With just a few minutes to go in the fourth quarter against the Panthers, Hill was brought down by a horse-collar tackle and was unfortunately injured in the process. Hill was clearly frustrated and in some pain, and this has the looks of a potentially serious injury. Hopefully Hill is OK, but maybe we'll get an update later tonight or tomorrow.

The Patriots are signing running back Jeremy Hill, according to Field Yates.

With Dion Lewis gone to the Titans, the Patriots are adding the former Bengals running back to the backfield mix. Despite starting games he played in last season, Hill was basically relegated to a part-time player after the Bengals added Joe Mixon in the second round of last year's draft; and Hill was eventually placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury. But in Hill's first three NFL seasons, he had 29 rushing touchdowns (at least nine each season), proving to be one of the league's best converters at the goal line. He won't be handed anything in New England, but Hill should have a real shot at carving out a large role as a powerful ball-carrier for the Patriots. Bill Belichick has no concerns about your fantasy team (as he shouldn't), so this backfield could be a total nightmare from a fantasy perspective—but Hill will offer obvious touchdown upside in drafts this summer.

The Bengals placed RB Jeremy Hill (ankle) on Injured Reserve.

Hill's season—and likely his tenure with the Bengals—is over. This year, Hill ran 37 times for 116 yards (3.1 yards per carry) and caught for passes for 16 yards. Hill's ankle injury kind of came out of nowhere when he was inactive for last week's game, and it'll be talented rookie Joe Mixon taking almost all of the carries the rest of this season and beyond for the Bengals. In his first three seasons in Cincinnati, Hill ran for at least nine touchdowns in every season and 29 total—and he ran for 1,124 yards when he burst onto the scene in his rookie season. While he was phased out with the Bengals, Hill should draw a lot of interest on the free agent market this offseason.

Jeremy Hill is a surprise inactive for Week 9.

It's time for second-round rookie Joe Mixon to take over the Bengals backfield, as he's listed as the starter against Jacksonville. The Bengals would probably be wise to try and run the ball instead of testing the league's number one pass defense, so Mixon could see 20-25 touches today. It's possible Hill is inactive for the rest of the year, so the impending free agent might've played his last game for the Bengals.

Jeremy Hill carries four times against Indy.

Hill gained 11 yards on his four carries and clearly does not have a big role with the Bengals right now. It's possible he's hoping to get traded before Tuesday's deadline.

Jeremy Hill gets four carries against Pittsburgh.

Hill started the game but didn't see a lot of work after that behind rookie Joe Mixon. Hill carried four times for seven yards, and though Mixon only had seven carries, he gained 48 yards and looked very good. Mixon is the back to own in Cincinnati's backfield, and the talented Hill does not need to be on fantasy rosters at the moment.

Jeremy Hill gets four carries against the Bills.

Hill started the game, but he was out-carried 15-4 by rookie Joe Mixon. Hill picked up 16 yards on his four carries. He doesn't need to be on standard fantasy rosters, as this is Mixon's backfield now.

Jeremy Hill gets seven touches against the Browns.

Hill carried six times for 16 yards and had a ten-yard catch on his only target of the game. Rookie Joe Mixon (21 touches) appears to be the man in Cincinnati's backfield, so Hill is not a fantasy option at the moment.

Jeremy Hill | Free Agent RB

Jeremy Hill sees eight touches in Week 3 loss.

With Joe Mixon operating as the team's workhorse with 21 touches, Hill was only able to rush seven times for 23 yards and catch a six-yard pass. Maybe it's worth keeping him around to see what happens in Week 4, but it looks like it's safe to drop Hill with Mixon as the featured back. The Bengals play the Browns next Sunday.

Jeremy Hill | Free Agent RB

Jeremy Hill gets six carries in Week 2.

Hill started the game but only had six carries compared to Mixon's nine. He also added a two-yard reception. While Hill isn't getting many opportunities, Mixon is outperforming him and will likely take over as the clear lead back at any moment now.

Jeremy Hill | Free Agent RB

Jeremy Hill carries six times in Week 1 loss.

Hill had 26 yards on his six attempts and had a -2 yard reception on his only target against the Ravens. He was more effective than Joe Mixon on the ground, but it's clear this is currently a split backfield with Hill, Mixon, and Giovani Bernard. Hill should probably not be in your fantasy lineup, despite his touchdown upside.

Jeremy Hill leaves Bengals' third preseason game with an ankle injury.

The team announced that Hill is out for the game. Hill had five carries for 15 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game. Hopefully the ankle injury isn't too bad, but rookie Joe Mixon will have a prime opportunity to get a lot of work with the first team here. We'll have to find out the severity of this injury to determine whether Hill is in jeopardy of missing the Bengals' first game on September 10.

Jeremy Hill starts second straight preseason game for the Bengals.

Hill was ahead of rookie Joe Mixon, who also worked with the first team. Hill carries six times for 28 yards against the Chiefs. He's starting right now, but that can change at any moment. Even if he is the starter, Hill will almost certainly get less work than in recent years with Mixon now in the mix.

Jeremy Hill gets the start in Bengals preseason opener.

Hill rushed seven times for 26 yards, showing good burst early on, but he eventually slowed down, even checking himself out due to exhaustion in the first series and giving way to Joe Mixon, whom looked great. He is the starter and Mixon is listed as the fourth-string running back, but it would be a surprise if Mixon doesn't climb at least a couple spots. Even if Hill keeps the "starting" job for the start of the regular season, he will likely be out-snapped and outplayed by the rookie.

Jeremy Hill | Free Agent RB

Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com thinks Jeremy Hill will still have a solid role this season.

After the team drafted the very talented Joe Mixon in the second round of the draft, some thought Hill would be phased out of the offense and possibly even traded. But Hobson thinks Hill will be "far from invisible" this season, as he's a talented runner and the only 1,000-yard rusher on the roster. Hobson also projects Hill (who has 29 rushing touchdowns through three seasons) to get a lot of work near the goal line. Hill has 222, 223, and 222 carries in his first three seasons, with the best year coming in his 1,124-yard, 5.1-yard-per-carry rookie season. The big back also didn't fumble at all last season, showing the worked hard on ball security after the 2015 season. The Bengals have three really good running backs, and it's difficult to project their fantasy value before training camp.

Jeremy Hill (knee) inactive for the Bengals.

It's not a surprise, as Hill was very limited last week against Houston. Rex Burkhead will be a solid RB2 this week and might be 20+ touches. Hill finished his season with 222 carries for 839 yards and nine rush touchdowns, with 21 receptions for 174 yards. Hill will be a lock for 200 carries again next season if he's healthy and will be a top 20-30 RB option in 2017 fantasy drafts.

Jeremy Hill (knee) listed as questionable for Week 17.

After being limited on Christmas Eve against the Texans, Hill would not be a good fantasy option even if he played this Sunday.

Jeremy Hill | Free Agent RB

Jeremy Hill (knee) obviously limited in Week 16.

Hill had seven carries for eight yards against Houston. He tried to tough it out, but gave way to Rex Burkhead (12 carries) to get more work. Hill isn't a good fantasy option against Baltimore's run defense in Week 17, especially because he could be limited again if active.

Jeremy Hill | Free Agent RB

Jeremy Hill scores against the Steelers.

He had 20 carries for only 43 yards and the touchdown. After the TD, he grabbed a Terrible Towel and "disrespected" it, and the Steelers came back and won the game, coincidence or not. Hill will be a volume RB2 against the Texans in fantasy championship matchups.

Jeremy Hill | Free Agent RB

Jeremy Hill rushed 25 times for 111 yards and one touchdown, adding three catches for 31 yards in Cincinnati's win over Cleveland.

Hill earned all his yards on Sunday, as he had a long of just 11 yards. The power back is dominating touches in the Bengals backfield with Giovani Bernard out, so he'll be a volume RB2 for next week against the Steelers.

Jeremy Hill | Free Agent RB

Jeremy Hill struggles on the ground, but scores against Eagles.

Hill had 23 carries for 33 yards and a touchdown. He also had two catches for 12 yards. 25 touches is a great sign, but Hill couldn't find much room on the ground. Hill only has one 100 yard game this season, but it was against his next opponent, the Browns. Hill will be a RB1/RB2 in that game.

Jeremy Hill | Free Agent RB

Jeremy Hill does his damage through the air on Sunday; Bengals lose to Ravens.

Hill rushed 12 times for just 21 yards, but caught six passes for 61 yards. An effective pass-catcher for a big guy, Hill could see more work as a receiver with Giovani Bernard out. The Bengals need all the offense they can get, and Hill is probably their best player for as long as A.J. Green (hamstring) is out. Playing next week at home versus the Eagles, Hill will be a high-end RB2.

Jeremy Hill | Free Agent RB

Jeremy Hill rushed 16 times for 62 yards and caught two passes for one yard in Sunday’s loss.

Hill couldn’t do much outside of a 20-yard run, but he saw more work than Giovani Bernard. The Bengals have to play the Ravens elite run defense twice down the stretch, including next week, where Hill will be just a touchdown-dependent FLEX.

Jeremy Hill | Free Agent RB

Jeremy Hill scores for third straight game.

Hill had 15 carries for 46 yards and a touchdown against the Giants. Hill has scores of 24, 13, and 10 in his last three games. Besides a Week 5-6 stretch where Hill wasn't a big part of the offense, he has been a great fantasy option. Assuming he keeps getting 15-20 carries and the majority of goal line carries, Hill is a solid RB2. This week isn't an easy matchup against Buffalo, but he's at least a FLEX option.
