Nick Vannett | Seahawks TE

Nick Vannett (back) is inactive against the Raiders.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Vannett would play today, but we had a feeling he might not, especially with the team calling Tyrone Swoope up from the practice squad yesterday. The Seahawks are likely to ride the run game today in the London game.

Nick Vannett | Seahawks TE

Nick Vannett (back) is officially listed as questionable for Week 6.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Vannett will play on Sunday, but he's indicated similar things about players in the past. The bottom line is that while Carroll is an optimistic person and expects his starting tight end to play, it's no lock. Vannett's status will be known by 11:30 AM ET on Sunday.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll says Nick Vannett (back) will play on Sunday.

Carroll said Vannett rested today but will be on the field against the Raiders in a couple of days. We'll update you if Vannett is listed on the injury report for the game when it's released later today.

Nick Vannett | Seahawks TE

Nick Vannett (back) was limited in today's practice.

We'll see how Vannett is listed on the official injury report for this Sunday's London game when it's released tomorrow, but Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll says his starting tight end is fine. It sounds like they were just being cautious, so expect Vannett to be out there for Week 6.

Nick Vannett | Seahawks TE

Nick Vannett (back) has been added to the injury report and did not practice today.

Vannett is Seattle’s starter with rookie Will Dissly out for the year, so this is a concern for a guy who has previously dealt with back issues. The Seahawks re-signed Tyrone Swoopes to the practice squad yesterday, which suggests they are at least slightly concerned about Vannett’s status. We’ll see if he can get back on the field tomorrow.

Nick Vannett | Seahawks TE

Nick Vannett catches one pass in win over Arizona.

It went for six yards. Vannett could see extended playing time with standout rookie Will Dissly out for the year, but he probably isn't anything more than a desperation play in two-TE leagues. For what it's worth, he gets a good matchup against the Rams in Week 5.

Nick Vannett | Seahawks TE

Nick Vannett catches four passes against Dallas.

Vannett was targeted five times in the Week 3 win, gaining 27 yards on his four receptions. Vannett is difficult to trust in fantasy lineups while splitting time at tight end, but he's a good real-life contributor for the Seahawks.

Nick Vannett | Seahawks TE

Nick Vannett catches three passes in Seahawks' loss.

Vannett was targeted five times in the loss to the Bears, gaining 23 yards on his three receptions. Meanwhile, rookie tight end Will Dissly had another play over 30 yards and scored in the loss. Vannett is not a fantasy option while he splits time at tight end.

Nick Vannett | Seahawks TE

Nick Vannett catches one pass in Week 1.

Vannett was targeted twice against the Broncos, gaining 11 yards on his lone reception. Meanwhile, rookie tight end Will Dissly, who Vannett is splitting time with, had three receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown. Vannett has potential, but it's difficult to trust him while he's splitting time.

Nick Vannett | Seahawks TE

Nick Vannett (back) is out for Week 17.

The second-year tight end's regular season ends with 12 receptions for 124 yards and one touchdown. Now he'll hope his team makes the playoffs so he can get back on the field before next season.

Nick Vannett | Seahawks TE

Nick Vannett catches all three targets in Week 13.

Vannett was a productive target for Russell Wilson against the Eagles, gaining 40 yards on his three receptions. It feels like the second-year tight end is starting to emerge down the stretch, but he's not yet a reliable fantasy option.

Nick Vannett | Seahawks TE

Nick Vannett catches first carer touchdown against the Niners.

Vannett stepped up after the loss of Luke Willson to a concussion, and he caught two of four targets for 29 yards and a touchdown. The score came on a corner route to the end zone for 17 yards. He's not a fantasy option, but it's great to see the second-year tight end catch his first NFL touchdown.
