Zach Ertz caught five passes for 50 yards in Sunday's loss to the Saints.
Ertz tied Alshon Jeffery for the team lead in targets (eight), but Philly's offense didn't get much going outside of 14 first-quarter points in an eventual 20-14 defeat. The season obviously didn't end with another championship, but Ertz set the single-season record for receptions by a tight end (116), and he's clearly established himself as a premier tight end for both real-life and fantasy purposes. The 28-year-old will be a no-doubt top-three selection at the position over the summer.
Zach Ertz catches five passes in playoff win over Chicago.
Ertz gained 52 yards on his five receptions in the Eagles' Wild Card win. As usual, the Pro Bowl tight end made tough catches throughout the evening, including a key reception where he high-pointed the ball in tight coverage late in the game. Next Sunday, Ertz faces a Saints team that shut him down (two receptions, 15 yards) in the regular season matchup, but Philadelphia is spreading the ball around more than they did back during that matchup.
Zach Ertz catches three passes against the Redskins.
Ertz gained 15 yards on his three receptions in the Eagles' Week 17 win. The 28-year-old's stellar regular season ends with 116 receptions (a record for tight ends) for 1,163 yards and eight touchdowns. While this final week was disappointing and Ertz hasn't been quite as good without Carson Wentz under-center, fantasy owners must be happy with his output in 2018. Ertz has been about as steady and reliable as it gets, and he'll likely continue as such in the postseason.
Zach Ertz scores twice against the Texans.
Ertz caught 12 passes (on 16 targets) for 110 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles' Week 16 victory. The 12 catches helped Ertz shatter Jason Witten's single-season receptions record for a tight end, surpassing Witten's 110 receptions with 113 and one game remaining. With no Carson Wentz, who loves throwing to Ertz, under-center, it was great to see Ertz again show a strong connection with Nick Foles. Ertz remains an elite TE1 option to conclude the regular season next week against Washington.
Zach Ertz catches three passes against the Rams.
Ertz gained 22 yards on his three Week 15 receptions. There was an obvious change in quarterback style of play with Nick Foles starting for an injured Carson Wentz, and it harmed Ertz's production, at least for this first game. Wentz would lock on to Ertz about as much as any quarterback would lock onto anyone in the league, so that's changed with Foles under-center. The star tight end was targeted on a throw in the red zone that might've been a touchdown if not for Aqib Talib coming off his man and making a nice play by stepping in front of the pass to intercept it. Despite a relatively quiet performance for Ertz, he became the first Eagle to hit 100 receptions in a season. With 101 receptions and two games to go, his chances of breaking Jason Witten's single-season mark (110) look to be in jeopardy, but he'll attempt to have a bigger individual game next week against Houston.
Zach Ertz contained in Week 14 loss.
As feared, the Cowboys paid extra attention to Carson Wentz's favorite target after he shredded them in the first meeting, holding Ertz to just five grabs for 38 yards in the rematch. Next week looks like a prime bounce-back spot for the star tight end, though, as the Rams struggle to defend tight ends, and the Eagles will likely need to win a shootout if they're going to win. Ertz obviously needs to be in all lineups as an elite TE1.
Zach Ertz catches nine pass against the Redskins.
Ertz gained 83 yards on his nine receptions in the Eagles' Monday night victory. As usual, Ertz showed excellent hands and caught everything he had a chance at coming down with, and he broke the Eagles single-season franchise record for receptions in a season, a mark that previously belonged to Brian Westbrook. He's now 17 receptions away from Jason Witten's single-season record for receptions by a tight end (110) with four games to go. Ertz will be an elite TE1 to start the fantasy playoffs next week against the Cowboys.
Zach Ertz scores against the Giants.
Ertz caught seven passes (on eight targets) for 91 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles' Week 12 victory. The score was a 15-yarder coming on a play where he broke tackles at about the five-yard line and got into the end zone. This was a strong bounce-back for Ertz, who crossed the 400-career-reception mark in the game. Ertz is an elite TE1 for next Monday night against Washington.
Saints shut down Zach Ertz in Week 11.
Philadelphia didn't play well at all against New Orleans, but Ertz in particular was surprisingly taken out of the game by the Saints. Ertz caught two passes (on three targets) for 15 yards, as he appeared to draw a ton of double- and triple-teams throughout the game. He's Carson Wentz's favorite target, so it was a good move by the Saints to not let him beat them. Ertz is obviously a good bet to bounce back against the Giants next week.
Zach Ertz scores twice in Eagles' loss.
Ertz caught 14 passes (on 16 targets) for 145 yards and two touchdowns against the Cowboys. He was clearly the top target for Carson Wentz throughout the game, doubling the next highest in targets (Alshon Jeffery with eight). The first score was a 15-yarder down the seam in a hole in the defense, and the second score was an in-breaking route in the end zone for one yard. This was Ertz's highest receiving total and first multi-touchdown game of the season, and his quarterback loves throwing him the ball, so there's obviously no reason to believe he won't keep this spectacular season going.. He's an elite TE next week against the Saints.
Zach Ertz scores in Eagles' Week 8 win.
Ertz made a nice grab on an out-breaking route in the end zone in the second half, making it a productive day for fantasy owners. Overall, Ertz had four receptions for 26 yards and a touchdown. The Eagles have a bye in Week 9, but Ertz will return as one of the top tight end options against the Cowboys in a couple Sundays.
Zach Ertz stays hot, but Eagles blow a 17-0 lead against the Panthers.
Ertz caught nine passes for 138 yards, as he consistently picked up yards over the middle on a team-high 11 targets. Unfortunately, Carolina made more plays down the stretch, and Philadelphia now sits at 3-4 heading into a London matchup with the Jaguars. It'll be interesting to see what kind of game plan Jacksonville has, but Ertz would seem to draw the best matchup, and he remains a top-three option at the position in all formats. Since Carson Wentz made his season debut, the 27-year-old has gone for lines of 5/73, 10/112, 10/110/1, 7/43/1, and 9/138.
Zach Ertz scores against the Giants.
Ertz easily beat Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkins on a corner route where he gave a quick fake to the post to get wide-open in the end zone. He was mostly an underneath target for the rest of the night. Overall, Ertz caught seven passes (on nine targets) for 43 yards and a touchdown. Ertz will obviously remain one of the better TE options when he faces the Panthers in a couple Sundays.
Zach Ertz scores in Eagles' loss.
Ertz was targeted 11 times in a comeback effort against the Vikings, catching ten passes for 110 yards and a touchdown. The score was late in the fourth quarter and cut the game to one possession. It was Ertz's first touchdown of the season, and the performance was his second straight game with at least ten receptions and 100 yards. He's one of the top tight end options for Week 6 against the Giants.
Zach Ertz leads team in receiving, but Eagles fall to the Titans in overtime.
Ertz caught ten passes for 112 yards in the 26-23 loss. It was the second time this season that Philly's tight end has gone for double-digit receptions, but he's yet to find the end zone. Ertz, who through four weeks is on pace for 124 catches and 1,308 yards, will look to keep it up against the Vikings next Sunday and remains a clear top-three play at tight end.
Zach Ertz catches five passes against the Colts.
In Carson Wentz's return to the field, the pair picked up right where they left off, as Ertz was targeted a team-high ten times. Ertz caught five passes for 73 yards in the Week 3 win, and he also drew a penalty for a first down. Wentz simply loves throwing the ball to Ertz, who remains a high-end TE1 next week against the Titans.
Zach Ertz catches 11 passes in Week 2 loss.
Ertz turned the team-high receptions into a team-high 94 yards, but he didn't find the end zone in a 27-21 defeat. The star tight end will be a top-three option next week against the Colts whether it's Nick Foles or Carson Wentz under center, but the latter could need to knock off some rust early on.
Zach Ertz leads team in receiving as Eagles defeat the Falcons, 18-12.
Ertz caught five passes for 48 yards, including a couple key first downs. However, he also uncharacteristically dropped two passes, but hopefully it's just a one-week thing. Whether Nick Foles or Carson Wentz is under center, Ertz should be a no-doubt top-three tight end option in Week 2 against the Buccaneers.
Zach Ertz catches game-winning touchdown in Super Bowl LII victory.
With the Eagles down 33-32 late in the fourth quarter, Ertz was able to take a slant in for the score from 11 yards out on a key first down, and it was a play the team needed so that Tom Brady and New England didn’t need just a field goal to win. Ertz finished with seven receptions for 67 yards and the score on nine targets in the 41-33 win. After a breakout season that put him right behind Rob Gronkowski in terms of NFL tight ends, Ertz deserves to be drafted as the second or third fantasy option at the position in the summer.
Zach Ertz leads the Eagles in receiving in NFC Championship win.
Ertz was a great target for Nick Foles throughout the entire game against the Vikings, catching all eight targets for 93 yards. As usual, the athletic tight end was a key target on third downs, and the Eagles also got him involved on screen passes. Ertz is likely to be a focus of the Patriots defense in Super Bowl LII in a couple of weeks.
Zach Ertz catches three passes in Eagles' playoff win.
Ertz was targeted five times against the Falcons, gaining 32 yards on his three receptions. He had a clutch first-down conversion in the second half, as a Falcons defender slipped, allowing Ertz to get wide open. The tight end will be a key part of the gameplan next week as the Eagles look to get to the Super Bowl.
Zach Ertz gets two targets in Week 17.
Ertz caught both passes, going 24 yards in limited action. Ertz had another consistent regular season for the Eagles, catching 74 passes for 824 yards and eight touchdowns in 14 games, as he and Carson Wentz had a great connection by the red zone. Ertz will now play in the postseason for the first time since his rookie year.
Zach Ertz leads team in receiving as Philadelphia locks up the top seed in the NFC.
Ertz caught nine passes for 81 yards in the 19-10 win over the Raiders, but it could have been a bigger night. The star tight end was on the receiving end of a Nick Foles interception that went of his hands, but Foles missed him twice on potential scores deep in Oakland territory. Philadelphia has the luxury of resting their guys next Sunday, and Ertz will probably be one of them. If so, that would open up a nice role for Trey Burton, and he'd be a TE1 option.
Zach Ertz scores against the Giants.
Ertz was targeted nine times by Nick Foles, catching six passes for 56 yards and a touchdown. The score came on a perfect throw into tight coverage, which Ertz snatched right at the goal line—something he's done a lot this year—for his eight touchdown of the season. Ertz needs to remain in fantasy lineups as a great TE1 in Week 16 against Oakland.
Zach Ertz has been cleared of his concussion.
Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said his tight end is "good to go" this week against the Giants, so he'll return after missing one game with the concussion suffered in Week 13 against Seattle. Backup tight ends Trey Burton and Brent Celek caught a combined two touchdowns while filling in for Ertz last week, as the tight end position is a big key for the Eagles offense. However, it remains to be seen how Ertz plays without Carson Wentz at quarterback. The two had excellent chemistry that might not be matched by Nick Foles and Ertz, but you should still consider Ertz a very strong TE1 in fantasy lineups.
Zach Ertz (concussion) is inactive for the Eagles.
After the team declared Ertz had cleared the concussion protocol a few days ago, Ertz apparently still isn't feeling right from the concussion suffered last Sunday night against the Seahawks. Carson Wentz will be without one of his top weapons in what could be a shootout with the Rams in Los Angeles. Trey Burton and Brent Celek will pick up the slack for Ertz, and Burton is the preferred fantasy option of the two.
Zach Ertz (concussion) is doubtful to play against the Rams, according to Adam Schefter.
Schefter often tweets late Saturday night or early Sunday morning about injuries, and while it usually seems to be an educated guess, this one is worth noting because there hasn’t been much clarity on the star tight end’s status with Philadelphia playing at 4:25. It’s also interesting that the Eagles mistakenly called Ertz cleared earlier in the week, but that’s still not the case. Ideally, fantasy owners would have already picked up Trey Burton as a handcuff, and he—or preferably Hunter Henry of the Chargers—would be a good replacement option from the late slate on Sunday.
Zach Ertz is still in concussion protocol.
This is a bit of a weird situation here, as yesterday the Eagles tweeted that Ertz had cleared concussion protocol. However, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson is now saying that Ertz that he's still in protocol and was limited in practice today. Maybe Pederson is unaware of his tight end clearing the protocol, or maybe the team's Twitter got ahead of themselves—we really don't know. For now, consider Ertz a game-time decision for Sunday.
Zach Ertz has cleared concussion protocol.
This is excellent news, and it looks like the star tight end should be out there this Sunday in a big NFC matchup with the Rams. Ertz is our 4th-ranked tight end for the first week of the fantasy playoffs, and he has huge upside in a potential shootout with Los Angeles.
Zach Ertz leaves game to be evaluated for a concussion.
Ertz had his head hit the turf on a play late in the third quarter against Seattle, and he's currently headed to the locker room. The good news is the tight end looked alert on the sideline, but his night might be finished. Ertz had two receptions for 24 yards before leaving and would have seven days to get cleared for next week if he does have a concussion.
Zach Ertz goes over 100 yards in Eagles' win.
It's Week 12, but Ertz's 100-yard effort was the first by an Eagles receiver this season in a balanced passing attack. Overall, Ertz caught ten passes for 103 yards and a touchdown against the Bears, with the score coming on another route up the seam where he seemingly always gets open for Carson Wentz. Ertz will remain an excellent option in Week 13 against a Seahawks team that hasn't been great against opposing tight ends this season.
Zach Ertz doesn't do much in Week 11.
Cowboys safety Byron Jones was in man coverage on Ertz for much of the night, and he basically took him out of the game. Ertz caught two of five targets for eight yards in the game, and he should have a major bounce back in Week 12 against the Bears. Keep him in your lineup as an excellent TE1 option.
Zach Ertz (hamstring) practiced fully today.
After missing Week 9 and then having a bye last week, Ertz is rested and will be ready to go this Sunday night versus Dallas. As he's been all season, Ertz will be an elite TE1 in Week 11. He comes in at number three, right behind Rob Gronkowski and Travis Kelce, in our TE rankings this week.
Zach Ertz (hamstring) is inactive for Week 9.
Ertz is going to miss his first game of the season, and Trey Burton will likely pickup most of his snaps as the Eagles top tight end against Denver. Fantasy owners can probably stick Burton right in as a plug-and-play TE1, but this is an obvious downgrade for Carson Wentz as a quarterback option. Ertz should be back after the Eagles' Week 10 bye.
Zach Ertz (hamstring) is questionable against the Broncos.
Ertz's hamstring tightened in practice yesterday, and he's now not a lock to play against Denver—though he did say he'll be out there. It seems as though the Eagles are being cautious (and remember, there is no probable designation anymore), but be sure to check back in when the actives/inactives are released at 11:30 AM ET on Sunday. Ertz being out would be a huge loss for quarterback Carson Wentz and the Eagles against one of the league's toughest defenses.
Zach Ertz scores again in Week 8 win.
Ertz caught four passes for 34 yards, including a one-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter. The talented tight end now has five touchdowns over his past four games, and he's on pace for a breakout 86/1,056/12 line as a fifth-year player. Ertz will probably be a big part of the game plan against Denver next Sunday, and he's the top fantasy option with Rob Gronkowski on a bye.
Zach Ertz catches all five targets against the Redskins.
Ertz continued his stellar play against Washington (and his stellar play all 2017), gaining 89 yards with a touchdown on his five receptions in the game. The athletic tight end has at least 80 yards or a touchdown in each of his first seven games, and he's become the best fantasy tight end option behind Rob Gronkowski. Expect another solid-to-great game in Week 8 against the 49ers.
Zach Ertz catches two touchdowns against the Panthers.
Ertz had only two receptions (on five targets) in the game, but he made the most of them by scoring on both. The first touchdown was on a 17-yard high-pointed catch on a post route, and the second was a one-yarder on an in-breaking route in the end zone. Overall, he had two receptions for 18 yards and two touchdowns. Ertz is playing like one of the best tight ends in the NFL, and he'll be a high-end TE1 against the Redskins in a couple Mondays.
Zach Ertz performs in a tough matchup as Eagles easily top the Cardinals.
Ertz caught six passes for 61 yards and a touchdown in a 34-7 victory. The 26-year-old continues his breakout season, and he looks like the clear third-best fantasy tight end behind Rob Gronkowski and Travis Kelce. Ertz will face another difficult matchup against the Panthers on Thursday night, but he's proven to be a matchup-proof play.
Zach Ertz leads Eagles in receiving in Week 4.
Ertz caught five of eight targets for 81 yards against the Chargers, again working as Carson Wentz's favorite target. Through four games, Ertz is on a monster pace of 104 receptions, 1,304 yards, and four touchdowns—and it wouldn't be that surprising if he hit or came close to those marks. Ertz will be a great option again—as he will every week—next week against the Cardinals.
Zach Ertz gets ten targets in Week 3 win.
Ertz caught eight passes for 55 yards and a touchdown against the Giants, but he did lose a fumble in the game that gave the Giants some life. Ertz's touchdown was on a slant type of route that he held on to while taking a hit in the end zone. It was good to see Ertz score, especially because he was open on the previous play but quarterback Carson Wentz fired one too high that made it an extremely difficult catch for the wide-open Ertz. Wentz's security blanket needs to be in lineups every week, and it appears he might be the clear third best option behind Rob Gronkowski and Travis Kelce in PPR leagues.
Zach Ertz leads Eagles in receiving in Week 2.
The Eagles tight end had five receptions (on ten targets) for 97 yards against Kansas City. The best play for Ertz was as the end of the first half when he showed good concentration and caught a pass that flew up in the air after hitting the arms of Chiefs defensive back Terrance Mitchell before running down the field for a 53-yard gain and getting tackled inside the 15-yard line. Quarterback Carson Wentz continues to look Ertz's way, dating back to the end of last season. He's looking like one of the better TE options in fantasy this season—especially in PPR leagues.
Zach Ertz catches all eight targets in Week 1.
Ertz was a reliable target for Carson Wentz, catching eight passes for 93 yards, which led the Eagles in receiving against Washington. Alshon Jeffery was matched up with Josh Norman and had only three receptions for 38 yards in the game, but it looks like Ertz is a good bet to lead the team in catches and should be PPR gold this season.
Wentz looks Zach Ertz's way in Week 3 of the preseason.
The Eagles starting tight end had three receptions for 44 yards in the exhibition against Miami. All of the receptions for Ertz were over ten yards, and he showed his wide receiver-like ability and good hands in his quarter of action. It looks like Ertz will be a very good option in PPR leagues, as he'll look to pick up some of the slack after the departure of Jordan Matthews.
Zach Ertz caught an 11-yard pass in the Eagles' second preseason game.
Ertz and the first-team offense had three drives to get something going, but could only get a first down on the final one, which ended on a LeGarrette Blount fumble. The offense will try to get some momentum heading into the regular season with a tune up next week against Miami.
Eagles create cap space by restructuring Zach Ertz's contract, according to Field Yates.
Yates says the Eagles turned $3.225 million of his salary into a roster bonus, clearing $2.5 million in cap space. The Eagles need the cap space.
Zach Ertz goes off in final game of the season.
Ertz had 13 catches for 139 yards and two touchdowns against the Cowboys. Ertz always seems to have great games towards the end of the season, but hasn't turned in a great full season yet. Next year could be the year, but it seems like we've been saying that every year now. Ertz ends his season with 78 receptions for 816 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games.
Zach Ertz surprisingly gets only two targets against the Giants.
After getting targeted heavily in recent weeks, Ertz had only two targets and caught them both for 33 yards. Look for Ertz to be more involved next week against the Cowboys, and he is a good TE1 option.
Zach Ertz has another good game in Week 15.
Ertz caught six-of-eight targets for 80 yards against the Ravens. He's been consistently targeted by Carson Wentz over the last several weeks, and Ertz has been running more than just simple stick routes like almost all the plays he was targeted on early in the season. Ertz is a solid TE1 on Thursday night against the Giants.
Zach Ertz leads Eagles in targets again in Week 14.
Ertz caught 10-of-13 targets for 112 yards against Washington. Rookie Carson Wentz seems to have gained a tremendous amount of trust in Ertz recently. Ertz will be a back-end TE1 next week in a tough matchup versus Baltimore.
Zach Ertz gets 15 targets in Week 13.
With the Eagles playing from behind, they threw the ball 60 times. Ertz had nine catches for 79 yards and a touchdown. He was wide open on the touchdown, as the Bengals defensive backs lost track of him. Ertz also drew some criticism for not throwing a block for Carson Wentz. Ertz is a low-end TE1 next week against the Redskins.
Zach Ertz caught three passes for 36 yards in Monday night's loss.
Ertz looks like a completely different player this year, as he simply goes down immediately on most of his catches. Perhaps he is dealing with an injury we don't know about, but leaving Chip Kelly's offense is probably hurting him. Ertz is at-best a low-end TE1 the rest of the way.
Zach Ertz has second straight solid game.
Ertz caught six passes for 55 yards after catching eight passes for 97 yards in Week 9. Two straight weeks of producing is a positive sign after not going over 37 yards since Week 1. Still, he is yet to find the end zone this season, and remains off the TE1 map next week as the Eagles travel to Seattle.
